A former U-V occurrence/mine located in approximate secs. 5-8, T36N, R29E, G&SRM, 3.1 km (1.9 miles) SW of Cove and 3.6 km (2.2 miles) E of White Ash Peak (coordinates of record).
Mineralization is tyuyamunite and carnotite in lenticular masses hosted in Late Jurassic mudstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation. The ore body is 1.52 meters thick and 12.19 meters long. Ore bodies occur in units showing the most rapid variation in thickness in the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation. Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group.
Workings include surface openings comprised of an open pit.
Production was 54 tons of ore @ 0.28% U3O8; 2.52% V2O5 (1951).
Analytical data results: 0.37-0.50% U3O8.
