A former U-V occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ sec. 21, T36N, R29E, G&SRM, 3.7 miles SE of White Ash Peak.
Mineralization is tyuyamunite and carnotite in lenticular masses hosted in Late Jurassic mudstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. The ore body is 6.1 meters thick. The mineralized zone is 40 to 60 feet above the base of the Salt Wash Member. Ore bodies occur in units showing the most rapid variation in thickness in the Mescal limestone. The ore body is elongated NE, parallel to the sedimentary trend. Fine-grained sandstone is interbedded with mudstone. Hematite and limonite stains are associated with the ore. The biggest part of ore is not closely associated with visible carbon but in some places is above or below sandstone with carbon matter and logs. Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group.
Workings include underground openings comprised of an adit from the rim, employing the room and pillar method of extraction.
Production was 6,423 tons of ore @ 0.25% U3O8; 0.88% V2O5 (1951-1955, 1959-1969).
The resources are largely depleted.
