A former U-V occurrence/mine located in sec. 36, T39N, R31E, G&SRM, near the head of Oak Spring Wash.

Mineralization is carnotite and tyuyamunite in irregular, tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. The ore body is 1.83 meters thick. Ore is found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus. Calcite partly cements most of the sandstone host rock and the ore has a high lime content. The ore zone occurs 54 feet above the lower contact with Bluff sandstone. Channeling and cross-lamination noted. Tyuyamunite disseminated in unevenly bedded, light gray, fine-grained Salt Wash sandstone with blue-green clay seams and carbon matter. The ore zone is 54 feet above the Bluff Sandstone contact and along sandstone-mudstone
contacts, in sedimentary structure and associated with carbon matter. Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group.

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 400 foot incline, a 150 foot shaft, drifts, stopes and room and pillar operations.

Production was 5,112 tons @ 0.23% U3O8; 2.28% V2O5 (1949, 1954-1959, 1962, 1966) of ore with grade ranging from 0.1 to 0.3% U3O8 and 2.1 to 3.2% V2O5.
