The Butler Mine consisted of two shafts on lands owned by the Lake Copper Company about 1/4 mile northeast of the Lake Mine Junction. Both shafts were sunk to about 300 feet with three levels developed along 1,000 feet of the Butler Lode. Mottled pink datolite nodules were found in the 1950s.
