An underground copper mine consisting of two shafts located one mile northeast of the original Arcadian mine. After the failure of the Arcadian Copper Company in 1903, a small group of investors from Arcadian organized the New Arcadian Copper Company in 1909. The mine worked the northern most extension of the Isle Royale Lode. The mineralization proved to be too erratic and the mine closed in 1917. In three years the mine produced approx. 164,000 lbs. of refined copper. Minerals found here include copper wires, datolite, and prehnite; however, the site sits on lands owned by the Houghton County Airport and access is strictly forbidden.
