A Cu-Ag-Au occurrence/group of claims located in the W½W½ sec. 7, T38N, R2E, G&SRM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) WSW of Jacob Lake (town), near Lambs Lake, on National Forest land. A small past producer. This property is comprised of 12 patented and 11 unpatented claims. Mineral rights owned by U.S. Metals Corporation. Operators included the St. Anthony Copper Company, Line Ore Mining Company, and H.J. Holt. Last produced in 1942. The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters. NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10136565 states that this is also an Mn occurrence. No further data support this occurrence.
Mineralization is a Cu-Ag-Au deposit hosted in Late Permian sandstone and limestone, and includes secondary copper minerals. The ore body is flat, ribbon-like at a thickness of 1.22 meters and a width of 3.05 meters, and with a depth-to-top of 0.0 meters and a depth-to-bottom of 1.22 meters. Ore occurs at intersection of favorable beds (cherty sandstone) and vertical fissures. Local rocks include Permian sedimentary rocks.
Workings include surface openings comprised of trenching.
