This mine is an old Ag deposit which has been described and visited by Ignacio Domeyko; its precise location is still unknown — it is located approximately in the Calabozo hills, quebrada El Arrayan, 60-70 km southeast from La Serena city (Coquimbo region).

The Diggings:
"The Algodones Silver Mine is near Vicuna, Chile. The Algodones Silver Mine was closed at the time of data entry, with no known plans to re-open. Production size when active was considered to be small. The host rock in this area is limestone."

The coordinates do not point to something resembling a mine, and are therefore not reliable.
