Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Deposit: This record has been merged with d011055, which has been deleted. Claim area is underlain by metamorphic rocks enclosed by quartz monzonite. Scheelite-bearing tactite occurs along and near contacts of biotite-feldspar quartz schist with the granitic rock. Exposures are poor, but scheelite appears to be present in all the tactite, which is composed mainly of pyroxene, garnet, amphibole epidote, and quartz. Much of the scheelite fluoresces canary yellow, indicative of high molybdenum content. Tactite bodies appear to be small and tungsten content is generally low, ranging from 0.01 % to 2 %, but averaging only about 0.25 % wo3.

Deposit type: W skarn

Development: Property was explored in 1953 and 1954. A single truckload of ore was shipped to the getchell mill in 1953 containing 6 tons of 0.71 % wo3 ore.

Ore(s): Igneous Contact
