A former baryte mine located in the center sec. 5, T26N, R8E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) SW of Canyondam, along the Ohio Creek, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is bedded barite deposits related to quartzite and limestone in the Calaveras formation of Late Paleozoic age.
