Precious Opal deposit and mine, previously owned by Lambright (1970s-1980s) consisting of 18 claims. Relocated by several parties since those dates, including Cold Water Blue claims and the original Starfire Mine. Located in Section 12 of T13N R34E. Land was withdrawn from claiming or entry, for military purposes, and no new claims can be located in the withdrawal. Existing claims with a valid discovery can continue to exist provided they are kept up with all work, fees and filings with state/BLM. Opal from this locality is more stable than from other deposits in the state, and is a sky blue color when mined, but fades upon drying to a powder blue.
