Zeolites occur in the basalts of the area.

This village is located in the municipality of Oeiras, within the Jamor River Valley. Valejas is divided into two parishes: the left bank of the river belongs to the parish of Carnaxide, while the right bank belongs to the parish of Barcarena.

Zeolites are found in the basaltic rocks of this area, filling small cavities. Basaltic boulders can be found throughout the region, along water channels, pathways, between residential houses, and even in their backyards.
