A former underground Pb-Cu-Ag-Au-Mo mine located on 4 unpatented claims in sec. 1, T10S, R4E, about 3 miles NNE of North Komelik and about 2.7 miles NW of Prieta Peak. Produced 1947-1956. Previous operators include Southwest Desert Enterprises (Joe Menaugh and George Wilson); Southern Arizona Mines; and Fred Andrade.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Escabrosa Limestone and Martin Limestone. The main vein is 6 inches to 24 inches wide. Ore control was near limestone-andesite contact in both rock units. Aea structures include volcanic rocks underlying limestone in the mine area and a NW-trending fault in the mine area.

Near Limestone-Andesite Contact-In Both Rock Types. Escabrosa Limestone is probably the host; Martin Limestone outcrops near the mine.

Workings include 1 inclined shaft (128 feet deep) with workings at 50 and 120 foot levels; 2 old shafts (200 feet deep each). Production was reported under mine name of Monarch in 1950's.
