A former underground Au-Ag-Cu mine located on 6 unpatented claims (1940), in sec. 21, T10S, R16E, about 2 miles ESE of Apache Peak, 300 feet W of American Flag Spring, about 2½ miles SE of American Hill, and about 2½ miles W of S from Campo Bonito. Produced 1937-1938. Operated by H.T. Cooper (1937); and by R. L. Oliver (1938).
Mineralization is a vein deposit with veins mainly in NW-trending diorite and diabase dikes. Veins vary from 18 inches to 4 feet in width, strike NW and dip 40-50NE at 1.22 meters wide. The mine is situated N of the Mogul fault, within ¼ mile (upthrown side of the Mogul). his is a small deposit with mineralization probably related to Late Cretaceous-Tertiary intrusive period, most evident S of the Mogul Fault, S of the mine.
Workings include one inclined shaft 110 feet deep, one inclined shaft 45 feet deep, and four shafts varying from 8 feet to 30 feet.
