A Cu claim and surface and underground prospect located in the SE¼ sec. 16, T1N, R14E, 2.2 miles ENE from Porphyry Mountain and about 4 miles NW of Miami, on National Forest land (patented land ?) [MRDS file states both status for the land].

Mineralization is comprised of copper silicates present in a fracture zone in dacite. The outcrop of the mineralized fracture zone can be traced for only 200 to 300 feet along the west side of a narrow gulch. The zone strikes about N.40ºW. and dips 80ºNE. The copper silicates are in thin discontinuous veinlets that fill open fractures and partly replace the dacite wallrock. The veinlets range in width from microscopic to an inch (2.5 cm). This deposit is noteworthy as a possible indication of a copper deposit in the rocks that underlie the dacite in the area.

Workings include a few shallow pits and a shaft about 40 feet deep.
