A former surface and underground Mn mine located in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 11, T1N, R15E, about 1 mile ENE of the Copper Hill ghost town site and about 0.8 miles E of Black Peak, on private land. Closed 1954. Located 1,600 feet NNE of the McGraw shaft. One of a large group of claims formerly owned by the Arizona & Michigan Mining Co. Owned by Mrs. E. A. Borge.

Mineralization is an irregular ore body hosted in the Mescal Limestone that strikes N40E and dips 70NW. An associated rock unit is granite.

The shaft was started in a small outcrop of Dripping Spring quartzite that is almost completely surrounded by diabase. The south end of the quartzite abuts a much larger outcrop of Mescal limestone also surrounded by diabase. About 390 feet down the shaft passed from quartzite into diabase and continued in diabase to the bottom at 520 feet.

At a point about 140 feet from the shaft, a crosscut 550 feet long, bearing N.30ºW., intersected a fissure that strikes N.75ºE. and dips toward the NW. About 150 feet of drifting was done along tbhis fissure. At about 300 feet from the shaft, the crosscut passed from diabase into Barnes conglomerate and a few feet farther NW entered quartzite that probably is Pioneer formation.

Workings include the Telfair shaft at 520 feet (158.5 meters) deep was sunk while exploring for copper in the early 1900's. The only lateral workings are on the 500 level. A crosscut 1,270 feet (387.1 meters) long was driven on a general bearing of S.52ºE. to reach the North vein. It passed from diabase into quartzite, probably Dripping Spring, about 490 feet from the shaft and continued in this rock until the end. The crosscut intersected a fault zone about 1,100 feet from the shaft that may represent the North vein. It was apparently not sufficiently mineralized to warrant exploration. A shaft of 80 foot depth was sunk in the 1950's on the Manganese vein while prospecting for silver. Most of the manganese was mined from shallow open cuts. No record of any production.
