Formerly: Côte St Charles, Vaudreuil Co., Québec, Canada. The vivianite was apparently associated with "bog iron ore" but the exact locality is not known. Some of the bogs in the area have been drained and turned into housing developments and horse farms. The best guess for the approximate area is near the intersection of Chemin Côte Saint-Charles and Chemin Sainte-Angelique in the present town of Saint-Lazare. Both Côte Saint-Charles and Sainte-Angelique, which may have been hamlets in the 1800s, are mentioned by Harrington (1874).
Coordinates given are approximate.
