Structure: Silver Peak Caldera Ne-Trending Faults

Deposit: Principal operation of the nivloc mine began in 1938 under the direction of braylorne, ltd. Of canada. Operating under the name of desert silver, the mine produced over 400,000 tons ore until 1943 when the mine plant and mill were scrapped. Deposit type: Epithermal vein, Comstock

Development: Main period of production was 1937-1943. It was estimated in 1966 that there was about 680,000 tons of "mill-grade" ore remaining in the mine. Stimler did some near-surface work in early 1900's, when the property was known As the stimler mine. In about 1909, w.h. Colvin, millionaire chicago broker, bought is and named it nivloc ("Colvin", spelled backwards,) mine was dormant, 1923-1928. Colvin reopened it in 1928, when it was comprised of 13 claims
