Deposit: 3 narrow lenses, the mine was located in 1934. Mined by open-pit methods, producing 21% mn. Ore in 1952-53 ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Deposit type: Volcanogenic Mn
Development: OPEN-PIT MINED, 1952-1953
Geology: Mn in 3 narrow, lenticular bodies consisting of intimate mixture of Mn oxides, wad, and silica. Ore consists of veinlets of Mn oxides in chert & a Mn-oxide ground mass with fine particles of chert & silica. Main ore body 820 feet long averaging 35 feet thick. Two smaller lenticular pods or lenses occur 200 feet south of main body.
