Structure: Shear And Breccia Zone
Deposit: Disseminated crystals and small stringer of cinnabar occur in calcite veinlets in breccia zones in limestone and quartzite along faults of small displacement. The mineralization is spread over a wide area and locally forms retort-grade or-e, but the ore so far discovered has lacked continuity.
Deposit type: Hot-spring Hg
Development: 9 claims located in 1941 and explored in 1942. No production until 1956. following discovery of Hg minerals here in 1940, coss, dan wootan and vernon bell in 1942 explored the property by short adits and surface cuts but failed to find enough ore to justify building a retort. The area was relocated As the joe group in 1956 by rene amat. He soon leased the ground to humboldt metals, managed by r. R. Whiting who did only a little additional exploration and recovered only 2 flasks of mercury. In 1961, a lessee reported a production of one flask, and although some exploration trenching, drilling, and under ground work was done up until 1972, no further production was recorded. Assessment work was done for rene and fern amat in 1973.
Geology: Rocks in area cut by calcite veins and by faults of small displacement along zones of brecciation.
Ore(s): Brecciated Zone
