Structure: Faults

Commodity: Provided Fe-mn-cao fluxing ore for early smelters

Deposit: Much ore taken from the "A" bed stope between 200 and 400 levels, following a certain limestone bed for 600 ft on dip, irregularly replacing it for 50 ft or more in width. Largest ore bodies were stoped from the surface to the 3rd level and between the 4th and 9th levels. Lower ore bodies occurred along a n4se fissure which dips SE from 4th to 6th level but below the 6th level it dips an average of 50nw. The ore system consists of a vertical pipe from which "ore beds" extend out laterally at 3 horizons into the gently-dipping limestones that enclose the pipe. Ag-pb ore occurred in the center of the pipe with exterior zones progressively higher in Mn and lower in pb and ag. The ore pipe or chimney occurs along a vein (n25e) which is a belt of brecciated rock 25 ft thick with angular blocks of limestone country rock enclosed in coarse white calcite. The vein is irregular in thickness, bulging out where it crosses certain beds. The replacement bedded ore that makes off from the chimney at 3 horizons is known As the a, b and c beds. The a bed extends up from pipe at 300-ft level, is large and irregular with a footwall surface striking n65w, dipping 15n, stoped 1-20 ft thick.

Development: Operated in 1911-1912 by day-bristol consolidated mining co; idle in 1913. Operated 1919-1927, idle from 1927-1941
