Commodity: Reported that the mine produced several thousand tons of smelting ore prior to 1906
Deposit: Replacement of limestone at intersection of an e- W fissure and several n25e fissures along which the tunnel was driven. Crossing the stope is a strong vertical n5 W fissure on which the winze was sunk. 2 bedded deposits about 50 ft apart are exposed in the workings. Replacement occurs S of a n60e fissure which dips 45s exposed in the back of the lower flat roomlike stope. Largest orebody was west of a n16 W vertical fracture on the east side of the stopes. Two bedded deposits about 50 ft apart are exposed in the workings. The lower consists of lead and zinc carbonate clearly replacing dark limestone, 2-3 ft thick with regular floor but irregular roof, 50 by 100 ft in horizontal dimensions. The upper bed, 18-24 inches in thickness carries much more copper carbonate than does the lower bed but also contains both pb and zn carbonates. It occurs above and S of the n60e fissure and west of the vertical n-s break. Both orebodies occur in nearly pure limestone above beds of very dense siliceous shaley limestone.
