"El Sosneado" is a village which is the starting point for treks to nearby volcanos.

"Cerro El Sosneado": mountain, elevation 4,734 m. above sea level. Sulphur deposits are located in this area.

El Sosneado is a district and locality of the San Rafael Department, Mendoza Province, Argentina. It is the most recent district of said department since it was elevated to this category in June 2005 by the Deliberative Council of this Department.

The town of El Sosneado is located 50 kilometers from Malargüe; 140 kilometers from the city of San Rafael; 300 kilometers from Mendoza Capital.

From Malargue, you can reach this town by taking National Route No. 40 and then Provincial Route No. 101. From the city of San Rafael you must take Provincial Route No. 144; National Route No. 40; and finally Provincial Route No. 101. From Mendoza Capital, National Route No. 40 and Provincial Route No. 101.

The "Circuito de Alta Montaña" ("High Mountain Circuit") includes El Sosneado, Hot Springs, Posts and Volcanoes.

In order to travel it, you must walk 135 km to the Hot Springs and the Laguna del Atuel, using buses or smaller vehicles for excursions.
