Mineralization is carnotite and tyuyamunite in irregular tabular layers hosted in Late Jurassic claystone, siltstone and sandstone of the the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation on the NE limb of the Toh Atin anticline. The ore body is 2.44 meters thick, 60.96 meters wide and 91.44 meters long and lies in a major meander of a paleostream channel in Salt Wash. Ore is found in clusters, usually associated with carbonaceous detritus.
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 600 foot x 100 foot strip mine, adits and stopes. Property was drilled.
Production was 7,365 tons of ore @ 0.21% U3O8; 1.47% V2O5 (1955-1956 and
1958-1959. This includes minor prodction from plots 1, 2, 3, 4, 7-12. Production in 1943-1944 includes plots 1, 6-13, and totaled 3,507 tons @1.86% V2O5. See page for West Reservation lease for minor production in 1948-1952 from Plot 6.
