Approaching along the track from Goginan and entering the wood there is the ruin of the crusher house on the left, though the buddles shown on the 1888 Ordnance Survey map are covered over. On the right is a tip, overgrown and trodden down by cattle but with abundant chalcopyrite and some galena. Above this tip is perhaps a small wheelpit. Following along the footpath a very large wheelpit is high up on the bank of the stream and beyond that to the right of ther footpath amongst the woods should be a shaft collar. The crusher house and wheelpit are shown conected by a driving rod and aqueduct. In the middle of the small field is a mound of rubble which is marked as a square structure on the 1888 OS map. On the far side of the small field amongst the pine trees is an open gunnis at the head of which a trial shaft is marked on the OS map and below which is a small but apparently barren tip. Immediately below this is the well preserved ruin of a cottage.
The 1905 Ordnance Survey map shows further development east of the stream with several levels at the level of the stream and a shaft in the field though none of these are now apparent.
The country rock is a pale, brittle mud stone.

Description: I have failed to find any evidence of this mineral at this location and it was the only listed mineral before I updated the entry for this location after visiting in December 2019. However looking at other mines nearby for example Ceunant there is also only 1 mineral listed and that too is Bournonite. I begin to suspect that entries were copied and this mineral has been carried over.

Description: Extremely common often with a brown surface tarnish but bright when broken and often with peacock tarnish. Collected December 2019 and positively identified.

Description: Patchy associated with chalcopyrite in contact with country rock. Collected December 2019 and positively identified.

Description: Often found alongside chalcopyrite and may be finely gritty or where found in thin veins there may be a distinct cubic habit. Collected December 2019 and positively identified.

Description: Only found in microscopic quantities on chalcopyrite bearing quartz. Collected December 2019 and positively identified.
