A group of asbestos claims with underground workings located in sec. 9, T2S, R17E, about 1¾ miles NNE of Hog Mountain, and about ½ mile SW of the Chiracahua Mine, in the North-central portion of the Hayes Mountains, about ½ air miles SW of the Chiricahua prospect, on Indian Reservation land.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a linear ore body hosted in the Mescal Limestone. The ore zone is 106.68 meters long, 0.2 meters thick, strikes N20W and dips 30SW. The concentration of asbestos exposed in the original outcrop was localized where several pre-mineral small scale bedding faults had prepared the limestone for mineralization. An associated rock unit is diabase.
Workings achieved a depth of 41.15 meters. No production record.
Assay data: Asbestos fiber that is semi-harsh and of poor strength.
