A former U-V occurrence/mine located in approximate sec. 8, T36N, R29E, G&SRM, 2 miles E of White Ash Peak. Operated by Kerr McGee Corporation.

Mineralization is a U-V deposit with ore occurring as lenticular masses hosted in Late Jurassic mudstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of the Morrison Formation. The ore body is 1.52 meters thick and 12.19 meters long. Ore bodies occur in units showing most rapid variation in thickness. Disseminated tyuyamunite is scattered throughout the bottom of 1-5 feet of the Salt Wash sandstone, 65-95 feet above its base. Thin mudstone seams, mud galls, gypsum, and calcite are locally abundant. Ore bodies, cluster on several horizons, 1-5 feet thick and up to 40 feet long. Local rocks include rocks of the Glen Canyon Group.

Workings include underground openings comprised of room and pillar operations on 2 levels.

Analytical data results: 0.37-0.50% U3O8; 1.0-2.0% V2O5.

Production was 55,588 tons of ore @ 0.20% U3O8; 0.72% V2O5 (1960-1968). Some ore mined here is properly credited to Frank Jr. Mine.
