An former underground U-V occurrence/mine located in the SE¼ sec. 21, T36N, R29E, G&SRM, 4.0 miles SE of White Ash Peak. NOTE: The geographic coordinates presented are taken from USGS MRDS database file #10112399.
Mineralization is tyuyamunite and carnotite in lenticular masses hosted in Late Jurassic mudstone and sandstone of the Salt Wash Member of Morrison Formation. The ore body is 1.22 meters thick. Ore bodies occur in units showing the most rapid variation in thickness in the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation. Local rocks include Oligocene to Paleocene[?] sedimentary rocks.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 30° incline that connects with the Mesa 2, P-21 Mine. The room and pillar method of extraction was employed.
Production was 44,174 tons of ore @ 0.20% U3O8; 0.89% V2O5 (1956-1958).
Resources largely depleted.
