A former surface Cu-Ag mine located on 60 claims in the SE¼ sec. 35, T8S, R12E, (Tortolita Mts 15 minute topo map), between Olsen Wash and Coronado Wash, 3 miles E of northernmost Suizo Mountain near state highway 79 (within sight of US 80, NE of highway ??? (well at sight)), on private land. Produced 1929-1939. Operators included J.J. Owens.
Mineralization is a nearly 5 foot wide vein of sulfides hosted in Pinal Schist. Ore control was fractures within andesite. Ore occurs in fractures and in areas of host andesite, with secondary oxidation common. Ore concentration was a strong leaching process. Area structures include andesite surrounded by Pinal Schist.
Workings include a 160 foot long tunnel (1881). 250 foot drill hole, but deposit is surface only in pits. One pit, 60 feet long, 17 feet deep. One pit 40 feet long, 4 feet deep. One vertical pit, 20 feet deep. 250 foot drill hole is now a well. Other drilling reported, including churn drilling (1918).
