A Au-Ag-Pb-Mn prospect with underground workings located in the NW¼NW¼ sec. 26, T23S, R15E, near the top of the hill adjoining the N side of Wild Hog Canyon, ¼ mile NNE of the Gross Mine, just to the SE of the Isabella Mine, 3.8 miles ESE of the Nogales International Airport, at an elevation of about 4,300 feet, on National Forest land. Discovered 1899.

Mineralization is the Jabalina vein which starts in Wild Hog Canyon at the former Gross camp, and extends eastward through the adjoining hills for a quarter of a mile or more cutting coarse-grained granite porphyry. The croppings are exposed through a vertical range of about 200 feet. The sheeting structure in the containing granite porphyry dips to the ESE. The vein is 402.30 meters long, dips steeply (80+) south at the shaft and is 9 feet (2.74 meters) wide. It is composed of coarsely banded mineralized brecciated quartz, altered rock, and ore carrying lead and silver. Much of the ore is stained black with manganese and some is coated with greenish and brownish crystalline pyromorphite. Oxidation is minor and the granite porphyry is altered near the vein.

This prospect is located in the Gross Belt. The belt and foothills are separated from the steep slopes of the range by a piedmont-like valley along which the Piedmont Fault runs; extends northward for 6 miles.

Tectonic elements include the N-S-trending Piedmont Fault and the Patagonia Range uplift on the east.

Workings include a 25 foot deep shaft near the top of the hill.
