Bruce Creek Mine
A barite mine along Bruce Creek. The ore was parallel veins of barite following the dip of argillite. The deposit contained 84% barite across an 8' width in one band and 75% barite across another 4' band. This is an extension of the Oman deposit. Development consisted of a cut, an adit, and some drill holes. About 5500 tons of barite was produced.
Deposit: The uribe and ohman prospects are located on the same barite bed. The uribe is on the n W end the ohman is on the SE end. Both deposits combined are called the bruce creek deposit. The bruce creek deposit is controled by c.e. Minerals(as of 1983). See sequence number 0530650388 for a complete description of the deposit. C.e. Plans to mine bruce creek after flagstaff mt is mined out. Thus the two deposits are lumped together in one mas report.
