"On the day I visited this small and shallow quarry I found fluorite, baryte, calcite and samples of what appears to be (white \ cream) smithsonite. The samples I recovered were not really very good, but they were the best I could find on the site. The largest fluorite crystal is barely 3mm, baryte's more than 6mm (though not great quality). All specimens were each on a matrix of very delicate sandy limestone which crumbles very easily. Some of the fluorites have a distinct bevelled edging and range in colour from transparent clear to pale yellow. A few nice specimens but generally not a great location." (Alan Ions information)
