A group of 21 U-Cu-Pb claims/mine with surface and underground workings located in the S½ sec. 12 and in sec. 13, T11S, R25E, 3 to 4 miles N of the Graham-Cochise county line, on National Forest land. Owned by M.V. Lee of Dragoon (1951). There is conflicting information concerning location - sec. 13 T11S, R25E (Atomic Energy Comm.); 10½ miles NW from Raso Station in T11S, R 24 or 25E (ADMR U file).
Mineralization is a 1 to 2 foot (0.61 meters) thick layer of agglomerate or flow breccia that separates 2 successive flows of porphyritic volcanic rocks and apparently controls the deposition of pyromorphite. The ore body(ies) are cavities and fracture fillings. Ore control was localized by the two foot thick agglomerate layer between volcanic flows.
Workings include a short adit, a shallow shaft, and 2 open pits. The radioactive material is mostly low grade. USBM Sample assay data: 0.26% U3O8, 0.221% U3O8.
