Historic gold mine.
The claim had the Pioneer adjoining to the north, Easter Gift adjoing to the east, and Great Southern adjoining to the west, all on the east-west striking Pioneer line of lode. The claim was pegged by the Neeld family who discovered gold in the area September 1893. They soon sold the lease to J. Davis who owned and mined the site until 1904.
Gold results were average. The total achieved by 1908 was 914 tons of ore for about 2,000 oz Au.
At the 150 foot level the reef was decribed as north dipping, east-west striking honeycombed quartz with much sulphides and some gold hosted in serpentine slate or crushed granite. Below 180 feet the ground turned into hard granite, and the miners did not have the captital to follow the reefs to these levels.
