Historic gold mine.

Most noted due to a dispute between the mine and Tatteralls (Hanson's) Hotel. When the goldfield was declared in March 1894, land was allocated for mining, and land for the West Wyalong townsite, on the western edge of the goldfield. Some land for mining overlapped residential and business land, causing subsequent disputes.

William Charles Hanson built the hotel in 1894. The hotel on Main Street West Wyalong occupied part of the Appeal mining lease. A well had subsided causing damage to the mine workings. Robert George Lindsay, and Emma Jane Lindsay owned the mining lease, and requested the mining warden in 1896 to have the hotel demolished, and the Lindsays ejected. The warden declared the Hansons had legal ownership of the land the hotel was on. The case then went to the District Court who overturned the decision. The case then went to the Full Court in 1899, who came to the same decision.

The hotel at this stage was a wooden single storey structure, with a wrap around verandah. On orders of the Full Court, the local police pulled down the hotel in 1899. The Hansons at this stage also owned the Red Flag lease. A new two storey brick hotel was built on Main Street across the road from the old location as part of the Red Flag lease. Called Tattersalls Hotel, it has operated at the site ever since. (When this was written 2026, the hotel had just closed due to the lease not being renewed).

Famous Australian artist, Sir Russell Drysdale, painted the main street of Wyalong from the hotel verandah in a work called 'West Wyalong'. It last sold for $2.5 million Australian dollars. A bronze easel sculpture sits outside the hotel to mark the spot.

Three crushings are noted across 1896 by the Lindsays achieving 2, 4, and 6 oz Au to the ton. A poppet head was erected in September 1896. Mining ceased due to a lack of capital.

The Brookman United Company took over the lease, together with the adjoining Red Flag lease in 1907. A new winding plant and poppet head was installed; the shaft enlarged and deepened to 350 feet.
