A former gold mine on the Mouse Trap Line of load and part of the Far Western West Wyalong line of lode.
Fraser and Party are noted at the mine July 1894, and as this is only four months after the goldfield was declared, are possibly the original owners. Davis and Party are mentioned only a month later. Either one was the owner and the other tributor, or the 'Party' is the other owner in either case. At this time they were on three gold bearing reefs from the western shaft. One was 10 inches wide with 100 tonnes of ore paddocked. The second reef was at the 60 feet level, the ore described as volcanic in nature with much manganese oxide, showing gold. The third reef was at the western boundary of the lease, and was 10 inches wide. Fraser and or Davis and Party are mentioned across 1895.
A crushing was noted in August 1896 by Conway and Party tributors, the result being 'satisfactory', and in 1897 the result was 'moderate'. Mining falls quiet until 1904 when the mining warden suspended operations for the lease in order to amalgamate with the adjoining property. The shaft was deepened to 225 feet. Duncan and Party were the tributors on a 12 inch reef, described as exceptionally good class. They planed to sink the shaft to 300 feet, which was achieved in 1905.
At the beginning of 1907, the Called Back syndicate purchased the lease, and intended to erect machinery and start mining. However two months later in March 1907, they dismantled and removed the steam powered plant from the lease.
