Owned and mined by George Coote from the deposit discovery in 1912, until he sold the lease in 1917 (with the exception of 1913 when the Ardlethan Option Ltd tested the site). Called Lone Hand as he mined it by himself. Small tonnages were regularly seen across the period. Coote sold the lease in 1917 due to ill health,and died two years later. The lease was sold to Lewis Litton, who with a small band of Sydney investors formed the Big Bygoo and Lone Hand Tin Mining Company NL. However, this only lasted until 1922, when the company was wound up by creditors.
Mines department geologist J.R. Godfrey was enthusiastic about the location, stating it was one of the best discoveries in the Bygoo area. At the time of inspection in 1915, there were three shafts, and seven trenches. The shafts were sunk on quartz-tourmaline greisen, containing cassiterite, and large amounts of bismuth.
