Historic tin mine. Located in two blocks (six leases) directly south of the Outcast lease, and east of the Welcome Stranger lease. J.J. Keogh who discovered tin at Ardlethan reviewed the history of the mine in 1920, in less than favourable terms. He states the lease was taken up by inexperienced miners, who were intent on selling the property to make money. They largely collected cassiterite from the surface. Called locally 'spuds', these are heavy cassiterite rocks and boulders lying on the surface. The lease was rich in these, and kept the men busy for some time. The deepest shaft by 1920 was only 30 feet, and evidence of mining was only found from 1912-1915. Early geologists note cassiterite crystals in the upper levels. Keogh also claimed amber, but no corresponding evidence has been found.

Some of the leases were on junctions in granite and sedimentary rock with cassiterite, and some were on barren granite. The shafts that were on ore, were said to be rich in cassiterite in quartz-tourmaline rock associated with much fluorite.
