Low value gemstone made into jewellery,and sold for specimens and lapidary. Once commonly found east of Temora both north and south of Young Road. Due to its popularity is now hard to find. Surface material still seen tends to be mottled, banded or pale, while solid lime green material needs to be excavated.

Called 'Temora Greenstone', its exact nature needs confirmation. The mineral museum at Temora states it is a Silurian quartz-epidote, however it also labels the material 'temoraite' which is a fictitious name. Some lapidary forums view it as jasper. A Facebook post claims Geoscience Australia Canberra geologist advised it borders on nephrite, but the level of investigation is unknown. The University of Florida states the green comes from chloride, and is late Carboniferous to early Permian.
