A classic site for large and beautiful pseudoleucite crystals. These are pseudomorphs of orthoclase or sanidine after leucite, with mica (illite) as a minor component. The aggregates are sharp-edged and represent icositetrahedra or crystal intergrowths up to 10 cm in size.
The crystals lie loosely in the weathering layer or are embedded in the primary leucite basalt.
