Montgomeryshire
A mine connected with the Van lode, situated on what appears to be a branch of the main Van Lode. Known as an "old copper work" in 1798. Worked by Mr. Brown, and subsequently by Mr. Harries, then Mr. Hugh Jones, and finally Mr. Pearce to 1862.
December 2019. The tips extend down the hillside to the road along the course of a small stream. The lower tip contains abundant mineral samples. At the top of the tip is a level platform and beyond that a series of smaller tips up the valley. Towards the top however there appears to be a shallow openwork that intersects the main excavation at an oblique angle. There is both an open shaft and a shaft filled with rubbish amongst the upper tips.
