An asbestos deposit located about 2 miles NE of Hog Mountain, about 5¾ miles SSE of Cutter in the North central part of the Hayes Mountains, about 13 miles SE of Globe at an altitude of 4,500 feet. Lat-long from arbitrary point in sec. 9.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Mescal Limestone that strikes N.10ºW. and dips 20º to 25º SW. 4 asbestos-serpentine zones parallel the bedding of the limestone and are exposed almost continuously for 400 feet along an outcrop.

Workings are limited to one shallow pit, probably dug in the early 1920's. No production record.

Assay data: Asbestos fiber in the upper zone is soft and of good tensile strength. The fiber veins are discontinuous, and asbestos occurs only sporadically along the ourcrop. At the pit, asbestos veins of the upper zone total 1½ inches. The asbestos of the lowest three zones is harsh and of moderate tensile strength, and ranges from ¼ to 1 inch thick.
