Location : This locality extends for about 75 metres northwest to southeast on Owyhee Lake Road (south of Ontario and Nyssa, Oregon), along the west side of a roadcut just south of Snively Hot Spring and paralleling the Owyhee River.
Coordinates: The center of the collecting area is at 43.727749, -117.204180.
The north margin of the collecting area is at 43.727950, -117.204156.
The south margin of the collecting area is at 43.727353, -117.203806
Host Rock: The deposit is a mixture of basalt, welded tuff, sedimentary interbeds and accumulated fluvial material.
Mineral Species: A variety of low-temperature, primarily hydrothermally-deposited mineral species are found locally along the roadcut and in the debris between the road and the river. The species found to date include chalcedony (massive, surface coverings), opal (intermittent hemispherical surficial coatings), calcite (massive and in crystals up to 10mm as individual crystals and plates, and in mixed pockets with the zeolites) and the zeolites stilbite-(Ca) (up to 10mm in maximum dimension) and thomsonite-(Ca) (up to 10mm in maximum dimension).
