The quarry measures 150 m long by 70 m wide, with an average working face height of 12 m.
Geological description: The quarry rocks belong to the Saint-Victor Formation and consist of medium-greenish gray, fine- to medium-grained clayey wacke (30% of the sequence) in 10 to 20 cm thick beds; very dark gray, highly cleaved mudslate and clayslate (65%), with a rusty appearance on the weathered surface (presence of disseminated pyrite); and dolomitic siltslate (5%), medium to dark gray, finely laminated, and forming 1 to 4 cm thick bands within the mudslate.
