In the Cascais area, "Mexilhoeira" refers to a coastal zone located near the Farol da Guia (Guia Lighthouse) and Boca do Inferno. Although the name "Mexilhoeira" does not frequently appear on official maps, it is commonly used locally to refer to this specific part of the Cascais coastline.
The Boca do Inferno coastal rock formation is one of the most iconic natural attractions in the region, located about 2 km west of Cascais’ historic center, near the Estrada do Guincho.
