Volcanic hill Wysoka Stróża (Germ. Wachberg) is one of several culminations of extrusive rock piercing the gneiss ridge stretching over 3 km from village Smolnik near Leśna (Germ. Marklissa) to the border with the Czech Republic.

The volcanic body belong to the Central European Volcanic Province (CEVP) according to G.Berg (1925) consists of basalt.
