The Xiamaidi intrusion is a northwest-trending mafic–ultramafic body with ∼ 1.2 km in length and ∼ 1.0 km in width, making it the largest outcrop in this region. The Xiamaidi intrusive rocks intruding the Middle Silurian limestone and siltstone consist of a gabbroic body in the northeast and an ultramafic body in the southwest, with a sharp contact between the two bodies but no chilled margins. The gabbroic body is composed of olivine gabbro and gabbro. The ultramafic body is dominantly made up of lherzolite.
