Quartz Hill
Quartz crystals occur in pockets. The hill (locally called "Quartz Hill") is on the south side of Dry Canyon.
The hard, fine-grained rock in the area was also used to make whetstones at some point.
There is also a chalcedony which has pink to orange color and when enough color is a jasper, which was used by the native peoples to make points and tools.
