Mesches Washplant ex-VM.
In 1892, the Vieille Montagne company became the concessionaire of the Vallauria mine and undertook major works. The mechanical preparation workshop was moved near the confluence of the Miniere and Casterino valleys. Around 1906, a funicular connected the level of the Charles-Emmanuel gallery to this workshop; This facilitated the transport of material and made it possible to supply the wash plant with "tout-venant" (unsorted ore), while avoiding the dangers of the weather.
With a workforce of 200 workers, the Vieille Montagne ensured steady production until 1910. Work slowed down and stopped in 1914.
