The Pony Butte Thunderegg Deposit straddles the Richardson’s Ranch property and is split by two properties.

The deposit (also called a “bed”) is approximately 1 mile north of the old Priday Ranch thunderegg beds.
Richardson’s ranch has one half of this bed, while another private party owns the other half. The non Richardson’s Ranch half of the bed has also been historically called the Lawson Bed.
Because of the deposit location on both of these properties, many of the thundereggs from Pony Butte have confusing pedigrees/labels.
While Pony Butte produces varied thundereggs of different colors and forms, it is known for its pronounced “moss” eggs.
