History of work: In 200? Operation by Pavage Abénaki as part of Beauceville's industrial park development plan. In 2005, MRNF — Updating of quarries.
Description work development infrastructure: The hillside operation is divided into 2 zones, each measuring 50 x 50 m, with a 13 m high face. In 2005, stripping work indicated that mining would expand to the northeast over the next few years.
Geological description: The rocks mined belong to the Beauceville Formation and consist of 75% mudstone, dark gray, massive (non-fissile or only slightly fissile) and 25% volcanogenic sandstone, in beds 10 to 20 cm thick. One particular bed, 10 cm thick, is made up of highly weathered, crumbly, rusty-brown material, possibly corresponding to a volcanic ash deposit.
